How to Make a Revolution
(color video, 2 min. 56 sec., 2006)
Nowadays, in the age of inflation of meanings, the word "revolution" lost its magnitude. It became a trend, a commodity and an overused keyword. To update Mao's statment, revolution became a dinner party, an essay, a painting, a piece of embroidery; it can be advanced softly, gradually, carefully, considerately, respectfully, politely, plainly and modestly.
How to Make a Revolution is a mockery of a master plan of an Eastern European artist who wants to make it big in the art world. It unfolds as a blueprint of life-story of someone who eventually climbs the ladder of success, from the first scandalous show till the fading into oblivion. As well, it is a laconic enumeration of every possible strategic move people from the unprivileged regions set upon hoping to break through into the Western system.
